November 30, 2012 Update: Interview
We recently interviewed the writer of Endless Night, K. McGowan. We discussed the show's aspects that have rarely or never been explored in canonical and licensed Doctor Who, such as the female main character.
On this, she said, "Very unique. I mean, [a] female Doctor-figure, even though she's not even properly-" , at which point she mentioned an important spoiler that will be left unprinted for the moment.
She elaborated upon this distinct lack of Time Ladies, noting that "there have been female Time Lords in Classic Who, but for the most part it's just been the Doctor and sometimes the Master. But there was that thing with Four and Romana...."
As for writing for the series, she says, "Stressful. Very stressful.... My brain is barely capable of keeping everything on straight because of ALL THE DIFFERENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND INSANITY....So, yeah... I'd say stressful is a good word for it."
On her own episode, which features the aforementioned important spoiler, she was rather vague, giving a handful of peculiar hints, "Well... To take a leaf from Moffat's book, I'll give you three words: pudding, faulty, bio-luminescent."
When asked to sum up all of it, she supplied a standard witty answer, "Can I say STRESSFUL again, or is that not allowed?"

Special November 18, 2012 Update: Interview with C. Rucker, writer of the episode Biological Warfare:
Over the weekend, c. Rucker, writer of the episode Biological Warfare, was interviewed by Head Writer F. Wolff. She provided some intriguing hints to her episode and spoke about the series as a whole.
On Type 13's relationship to its parent show, the British science-fiction show Doctor Who, she said, " I think [Type 13 is] a really creative idea, and I like the fact that it's a female regeneration", adding, "since we see so few of those".
On the experience of writing an episode, she offered some insight into her life. "I'm a procrastinator, which [made writing the episode] pretty stressful. However, I still did enjoy the experience over all, because I don't usually finish any projects of my own".
When we spoke about the episode, she gave two curious hints:
" Sonic eraser.."
and a line from her script, " 'I'm sitting on a trap door' ."
